Sangiovese 100%
The best expression of sangiovese, produced only across the better vintages, it is named after the “La Casa” vineyard located at 275 m above sea level in the northern area of Montalcino with South-South/East exposure and basically loose shale-sandy soil rich in skeletal material. Caparzo was one of the first growers to understand the influence of the terroir.
COLOUR: ruby red, tending to garnet red with ageing. BOUQUET: penetrating, very full and varied, reminiscent of wild berries, spices and vanilla. FLAVOUR: dry, warm, full-bodied, harmonious, delicate and austere at the same time, persistent. FOOD COMBINATION: roasts, grilled, spit-roast or braised meats, game, ripe cheeses SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18° C, better if uncorked 1 - 2 hours before serving.
